Fixing Car Interiors - Plastic Scratches

What are some suggestions to fix scratches on the plastic in the interior of the car? Someone has suggested using a candle of a simliar color and possibly melting it and rubbing the wax over the scratched portions.

    Any sounds suggestions here?
    thx,
    Dan

With some it would just be easier to replace scratched panels with used ones from the boneyard.

I never tried to fix them.

Some of those pieces really aren't that expensive to buy new.
It's kinda hit and miss sometimes though.
I replaced the a-pillar cover on my 96 GSX for like $7 from mitsu.
