I saw Serenity yesterday. I was very impressed. I am identifying it as the karmic opposite of The Transporter 2.

Serenity is decidedly lacking in nice cars. There are many vehicals, most of them very beat up though. The vehicals in Serenity do fly, just like in Transporter 2, but the significant difference is that they are designed to do so, unlike the flying car in Transporter 2.

Acting, storyline and continuity: The actors could act. There was a real storyline. And there was definately continuity.
The storyline was the most impressive thing about the movie. It held up well both for fans of the series and for the unfortunate people who never saw the series. The story briefly touched on the history that was covered in the series einugh to give the non-fans an understanding, but no so much as to bore the fans. It was very well done. An obvious show of writing talent. This is the promary reason the continuity was good.

Realisim: It is scifi, there isn't realisim in scifi. There was as much in the movie as there could be. There was definately suspension of disbelief, which for scifi is as good as your get. There was realisim in that you could believe things happening the way they were.

No one near me checked their cell phone this time. I suspect it was because everyone was interested in the movie and had enough sense to turn their phones off and leave them off. That's one of the best things about seeing a movie with such a devoted fan base. Everyone realizes that if they are the one that disturbs the movie for the fanatics, they will be beaten to death before the ushers can run in and save them.

This is the best movie that I have seen all year. Considering some of the movies I have seen this year were pretty good, that actualy means something.

    I give this movie:
    out of five.

The most entertaining part of the movie was when the guy next to me checked his messages on his phone. I would normaly get upset about that, but in this case he wasn't interupting anything.

    Thumbs up An Unfinished Life

WOW Paniolo! You covered some serious ground there! Thanks for your input.

I saw An Unfinished Life today. Wow! I wasn't really sure what to expect but was very impressed with this one. J. Lo did a good job acting (yes, acting, not shaking her nice butt for a change) and Morgan Freeman was amazing as usual.

I won't get into the plot here, but to sum it up really quickly, it is about overcoming physical abuse and forgiving family members for mistakes. This is not a big budget movie, and I would doubt that many people will see it in theaters, but it is well worth watching. I'll give it a solid A.

Review of last night's screening of "Waiting".

I couldn't stop laughing hysterically. I think this is the best comedy since
Old School. What I didn't like was that with an R rating, and well definitely should, you'll know why if you've seen it, that many parents brought their kids to the show. This really ticked me off because kids, especially pre-teens shouldn't be exposed to the language, etc...No wonder why kids today are all screwed up. Doesn't say much for the parents either.

Anyhow, the casting for this movie was excellent.

The premise of the movie is "respect people who handle and serve your food in restaurants".

    I give it an A!!!

I didn't see it, but it was about people who work in restaurants and do all kinds of nasty stuff to irksome customers' food.

Elizabeth town was a great movie, But it was alittle slow and dragged on at times. I liked the ending This was a romance movie with some comedy. It was about 2 hours and 10 min. Definatly not for kids, it will bore them

anyone seen "the gospel" yet? I really wanna see that and North County which is coming out soon

    Secret Lies

A story about a married couple where he is a Brit in a prestigious position and she is his supporting wife.
Things fall apart when they decide to throw a party and he can't make it. She calls a friend of the family's grown up son to assist her and there is an accident...and an affair.

I found that movie to be rather long at about 80 minutes...it ran like 6 months worth of a non-sensational soap opera squeezed into a movie.
I found the actors uninspiring, and the storyline rather predictable and unexciting, but the character interactions to be someone interesting. After I thought it was over (at about 65 minutes) they threw in a new thread as though they were simply trying to fill in some time. Also a few minor loose ends remained.

I was rather bored with the show, but the girls behind us were cackling away on every slightly unexpected incident so maybe it's a girl flick?

    I give it a C-.

man I wish I knew what part you laughed hysterically at-(except the one line at the end which I won't blurt out and ruin for people here) I was in a theater full of college guys when I saw this last night and even THEY didn't laugh..the jokes were old, the content sucked, and the plot, well predictable..I give it the two thumbs down that's for sure..(Ps..I loved Old School and it's nothing like it at all)

    Shop Girl

The story of a girl from Vermont trying to find a life in L.A. and ending up a counter girl at Saks 5th Avenue. While in a laudromat, she meets a quirky guy (Jeromy) with no aspirations in life. His quirkiness and her loneliness is enough to make her go on a date with him that is a disaster by anyone's definition, but she enjoys the company.

Shortly after, an older man (age 50) comes to the store and asks for advice on a pair of nice elbow-length women's gloves. She recommends the black rather than the gray. The next day, these gloves end up on her doorstep with a note to meet one Ray Porter for dinner. He shows up at the store and introduces himself and convinces her to join him for a no-commitment dinner, which she does and finds that he gained wealth through some good computer investments and travels a lot, and really doesn't want a serious relationship with someone as young as her, but he enjoys her company.

When Jeromy finds that she is seeing someone else, he decides to go out on the road as a "groupie-technician" with a band that he met, where he gets to learn about himself.

The rest of the movie is about her trying to find love with Ray and later meeting up with Jerome and wondering if either of these guys is right for her.

Also the movie was somewhat sad in that there is no real spark while she sees these guys, it also seemed very true-to-life. The acting was good, the story was interesting enough, and the characters were reasonably interesting.

I'd give it a B, and will note that at least some of the women in the audience seemed to really feel for this girl and how she experienced various levels of disappointment. Probably a good date film.

Just saw Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit. What a fabulous movie! I was so impressed with some of it's quick wit and creative storytelling. I've been a fan of Wallace and Gromit's for years and they met all of my expectations with their first feature length film.

I'd highly recommend this movie for adults and kids alike. A+

For one of W&G's older short films, check out The Wrong Trousers. It's got a villain penguin named Feathers McGraw who puts a red rubber glove on his head to disguise himself as a chicken. It's a classic.

    Chicken Little

After ruining his reputation with the town, a courageous chicken must come to the rescue of his fellow citizens when aliens start an invasion.

First thing is congrats to the new Disney Computer Animation team. The animation was outstanding. Just look at the expressions the characters make, WOW, also the clever use of camera movement.
The movie is very funny and entreating. The movie has a couple of messages and life lessons that are true and true. My family and I enjoyed it a lot. Warning though at the middle of the movie it gets a little scary for the little ones, but at the end of the movie they will learn one of the messages the movie gives and the fear will go away.
I definitely see a movie ride adaptation at Disneyland, maybe retire the Roger Rabbit ride been that the cars on this movie looks like the cars on the ride.

One thing I missed was that there was no short at the beginning of the movie like Pixar used to do.

Be on the lookout for hidden Mickey’s and stay for the ending credits.

The movie it's about 1:17 min long. We give it an A++ and recommended for young and old.
And thanks to bendogg we are going to see it today again.

    After the movie goto http://disney.go.com/disneypictures/chickenlittle
for some downloads and free games. (We liked the dogball and the kareoke)

    JARHEAD

I gave it about a B/B-, has alot of war action and alot of strong language, lot of strong sexual action...about Marines and one specific marine named Anthony Swoff going thur boot camp and what they do, war is not what he would ever had imagined...Swoff scout/sniper in a USMC platoon in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait during the Gulf War and going to Desert Storm and what he does for his country and never fires his rifle.... with the Iraqui soldiers and through out the Middle East Desert's heat. They Swoff and his patoon ready to fight, and they are not fighting. Casualties happen, from accidents mostly, but they do not get to fight. There seems to be no purpose for them being there.

    1 hour and 55 minutes

This film was alot like Platoon if you saw it....

I can say it is a guy movie.....
