Ben jessica alba isn't really much on the movie ... most of the time you could call her a background prop because of the role she was playing at the moment...

    Cool

    [QUOTE=bendogg]
You guys & gals that saw Beauty Shop- Was Alicia Silverstone any good in it? She is the ONLY reason I'd sit through it, so I need to know what to expect. Fred gave it 2.5 weak stars. He said he found it too predictable, but he's not really the target audience for that one anyway!

She was cute in the movie. Haven't seen her since Clueless. She plays another not terribly bright blonde but she was good. The movie is definitely a chick flick. Like I said ,there were some guys in the theatre but mostly women. Unless you are really into Alilcia, I would suggest waiting for it to come out on Dvd.

    Talking Thanks!

Thanks SS & RiverWidow. That's exactly what I wanted to know. I think I will wait till DVD on Beauty Shop and probably rent it free with Netflix or Blockbuster.com. There are still lots of "Family Members" that haven't tried them out --Ben Dogg

    Exclamation Formal Request

can each movie please have its own thread? (like how it used to be done, before all the n00bs came to town?)

i don't want to have to scroll through the review of Miss Congeniality 2 in order to read the review on Guess Who (ok, thats just an extreme example, but you get the idea).

That's not a bad idea, but I'd like to see a link from here to each of the review threads.

Went to see Sahara last nite..... it was not a bad movie....seem slow in the middle part... but it kept my attention.....
I would say i would not probably pay to go see this movie....but overall it was not bad show.... especially when it was for free....
I can say those people sure had alot of white teeth.....
Dirk Pitt finally found the lost Civil War battleship filled with coins, called The Ship of Death...

There was a mysterious death and they did find what is was caused from and where it came from.....
Alot of adventure and action also car chasing.....
Quiet a few places to laugh at...and the audience did that well.......
I can say i love the music played in the background....saw alot of heads bobbing around.....

After the show let out.... some guy was standing outside the door offering to buy the Sarhara poster from people.....

Don't mind us n00bs, we're just trying to be accepted here by the gold star people (lol)... Bendogg I love your thread.

Besides, can't you use the search feature to look for just one movie?

    Off the Map

    I rate this movie:
    worth bargain hour price

I liked this film. It was interesting seeing people live without money. It was really funny how the girl kept getting companies to send her free food. The progression from short order cook to irs guy to artist was unusual. The land and the paintings were lovely.

    1 hour&45mins...

I went to see Off The Map it was a good movie.... but slow in the middle.... there were some parts that were funny.... and some that weren't.... But to me it showed a 11 year old girl growing up with a depressed father all the time... and her mom does all the family home grown garden for their food and always likes to do it in the nude.....(LOLOL) .....the daughter Bo, she was a smart little girl with a lot of imagination.....She's a crack shot with a rifle and a bow and arrow... The show takes place in New Mexico.....

    I would rate it as a B-

    Thumbs up Fever Pitch

Just got back from the screening. I would highly recommend this movie! Predictable, but funny.

I didn't get to see it, but heard the review from two people who did:

    1) Eh
    2) It was nice, but not worth seeing again.

This may be better watched by true baseball fans who don't mind romantic undertones.
(Anyone wanna take me so I can give a review of my own ? )

    1 hour & 41 mins

The movie was romantic funny. I thought that Drew Barrymore role was played well as a business woman
Those Boston Red Socks did alot for a school teacher.....

I went to the Fever Pitch screening last night. I thought the movie was really cute. Warning: it is a total chick flick with a VERY high gag factor. But taken for what it was, it had some laugh out loud moments. Recommended for Boston Red Sox fans!

100.7 Jack FM was there to sponsor the screening. They didn't give out any prizes, only some measly Fever Pitch posters and lame Jack bumper stickers. Ironically the new bumper stickers are oval so you can try to hide your old Star stickers with the new ones! LOL! The audience didn't seem all that pleased when the Jack guy introduced the new radio station.

    Thumbs up Amityville Horror Suspense/Horror

Went to see this last nite...... there were only a few people in line....so thought, oh great, one of these horror shows again that is no good....
I can actually say before the movie started then it was a packed show house....

Movie Time: 1 hour 40 mins

    November 14, 1974,
A nightmarish crime scene at the Defeo residence in Amityville, Long Island - an entire family had been slaughtered in their beds.

One year later, George and Kathy Lutz and their three children moved into the house thinking it would be their dream home.

Bizarre and unexplainable events began to occur to the family as George was plagued by nightmarish visions and haunting voices from the evil presence still lurking within the residence.

R for violence, disturbing images, language, brief sexuality and drug use.

It was a fun nite....the lady that sat next to me.... i asked her at the beginning of the movie....you jump or scream.....at these kind of movies....she said not too much.....Never believe people again..... LOLOLOL
I had to check my arm to see if it was black and blue.....She screamed so much....i feel like i was watching 2 movies at the same time.....LOLOLOL She was a roit.....

Out of all the thriller, horro movies i have been to lately...this one would be at the top of my list.....
I guess i would rate this film as a B

93.3 and z90 were there together and handing out T-shirts, hats, and gave out 2 amityville water globes.....they were neat...i looked them up online last nite...and they were selling for $45.00 on Ebay...... only 2 tho....and i think the guy handing them out already had the ppl picked out...... I would have loved to gotten one....

  25. #175
I saw that movie too peachie.....i was soo scared........i screamned On my Gosh when a scary party happened........apparently, the people behind me got scared from my screaming....I would give it an A..i saw some people take their kids....hmm doesnt seem to well for kids........I got a t-shirt and my friend took it from me the guy threw one right at me hehe I would recommend you see Amityville Horror ...

    Kung Fu Hustle

    I rate this movie:
    worth full price

This movie started out looking like good guys versus bad guys then it became tougher good guys versus bad guys then it became tougher bad guys versus good guys. There was a subplot with this one guy who wanted to be bad cause the bad guys always win and this girl that seems to like him. Normally this would make for an average movie but it was really well done with great humorous moments and great fight scenes which worked well together. Totally enjoyable as long as you like fighting/kung fu films.

    Talking Multiple Threads

NY- Meet The Fockers comes out on DVD this Tuesday (4/19) I think.

As far as having individual threads for each movie, I think that would be too tiresome to maintain. I'm sure people start their own threads to discuss new movies, but I'm going to stick to this one. The search function works fine, you just need to use the 'Search This Thread' option instead of just 'Search,' which just searches all the forums.

    Thumbs up Fever Pitch

I saw Fever Pitch Thursday and enjoyed it. I am into baseball, so I understood that part of it. I also hate the Yankees, so that can't hurt either (Go Padres!). Drew Barrymore gave a great performance (and looked very pretty as well). I don't like Jimmy Fallon much, and couldn't really connect with his character in the film much. I thought the film would play up the World Series part a little more. They just kinda summed each game up, which seemed anticlimactic.

I'll give this one a B+. Probably a better rental to watch with a girl/guy who likes baseball. I wouldn't really call this one a chick flick, but it had some of those qualities though. -- Ben Dogg
