S: My wife is gone for a month

I just dropped my wife off at the airport tonight.
She'll be off the coast of Australia living on a boat mapping the sea floor for 5 weeks

We'll be able to stay in touch via periodic email.
Until then, it's just me and the dog.....

That is a bummer

for you but sounds fun for her. But I know how you feel my husband leaves all the time. He is in the Navy. They always go to places and explore. I know it is work and he hates leaving for that long. But He gets to explore new places. I get jelous sometimes.
But it is hard when he leaves for so long. He is usually gone for 6 months. Then they are back for a month and then they have to go out again for a month or 2 just to make sure the ship still works.
It is a hard life for both of us. Hope the time goes by fast for you.

I am so jealous. I have gotten to visit Australia on two occassions, and I love that country! You should've went with the wife.

On a serious note, yep you have to hate it when you SO takes off for a period of time. I hate it when she is gone a week, let alone a month. But what can you do, other than roll with the punches.

Area code rule? I always thought it was the 1000 mile rule or the foreign country rule.

Definitely know some guys who have used the foreign country rule....but that was on a bachelor party trip, so it doesnt count.
