Looks like someone is selling this info on EBAY!
-
actually a lot of people are doing that, i see now. What theyre doing is either SELLING the link, or posting a .01$ auction so people will read it and click on their referral link!

I did this same exact deal with www.jackpot.com and let me tell you, Jackpot.com is one of the most Unprofessionally run companies I have ever come across. Not only were they rude to me whenever I would write an email inquiry, but also I referred 31 Fully Registered people before May 1, 2000 (and the deadline was May 15, 2000, so was 2 weeks ahead of schedule) and the claim that their records show I only signedup *22* people, therefore I *Just missed the 25 needed referrals to earn a Palm V. What a scam that company is running. One that makes you sign all your friends and family up and then they do not go through with their promotion. I even have the list of all of the people I signed up, because many of them I went to their house to sign them up. It was supposed to be a nice Father's Day gift for dad, but instead I am left feeling cheated and unjustly violated. I have been emailing them 1 to 2 times a week asking for a reply of any sorts to rectify the matter at hand and even asked for a phone number to speak to them, but to no avail, they are proving their unprofessionalism more and more each day. I do not know what else I can do
All that work to gain referrals and now I am left in the dark

sup everybody,
I don't know if this is new cuz it's been a while since I've been here, but there's a site giving away Palm Pilots if you can gather 25 referrals. Go to http://www.pdafn.com/promo.shtml and well, you guys know what to do.
I know referrals aren't allowed on this board, so I'm providing a second link. The one above is the non-referral version and the one here is the referral version. If you guys could help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it cuz I'm trying to get my dad a decent father's day gift. If not, that's ok too, just have fun w/ it =).
THIS FORUM IS TO REMAIN REFERRAL FREE. PLEASE FOLLOW THE FORUM POLICIES. WE UNDERSTAND IT MAY BE TEMPTING TO PUT YOUR REFERRAL ID'S HERE BUT IF WE START ALLOWING PEOPLE TO DO THIS, THERE'S REALLY NO WAY TO DRAW THE LINE. THANK YOU.

I'm sorry, I really really hate "raining down" on someone's parade, but I think you missed something here.
"PDAMD.com: The Handheld Headquarters for Healthcare Professionals
PDAJD.com: The Handheld Headquarters for Legal Professionals
PDAFN.com: The Handheld Headquartes for Financial Professionals
PDARE.com: The Handheld Headquarters for Real Estate Professionals
...
Can I refer anyone?
Anyone associated with the industry groups that our websites cover is eligible. "
Ok, well. So yeah, you can refer lots of people, but it sure makes it tough to get that Palm V if pdafn.com checks the referrals out... which, I hope they don't... but just so you know, there might be some sort of loop-hole.

LOL, why would someone go through all that trouble for a measly .05 per bid! I just find it funny, since you *might* get referrals, and you have to pay the Ebay fees as well. So, basically you make nothing and have to pay something for the Palm V. Maybe not as much as the original price.

this sounds like a pretty hard deal to get in on, considering the restrictions they place on the eligibility of referrals. here is a direct quote from the site:
"For each referral who accesses PDAV's websites and who successfully completes the website registration process (including verification that they are a qualified person for that site (as set forth above) and are eligible for the Promotion (which verification may include, but not be limited to, confirmation of registration by telephone or regular mail, confirmation of professional qualifications and minimal site usage in the period following registration)), you will receive one additional Referral Credit."
so much for referring "fake" people. haha. i know some of you out there will still try.

well, hopefully anyone who tries will be qualified...

Snugs,
You sound very bitter. Don't be surprised if you come back to this thread to rethink your thoughts. I have heard that they have been over turning decisions of qualifications... (from other threads).
What are the chances though that they could be wrong? I'm sure they have a lot of really good tech guys (heck, they're idealab!) that know how to run the script very successfully.
And who are we to say that the people we actually refer really did do what they said they did? I ask my siblings all the time if they did something, and they tell me that did, only to find out they didn't. Humans are similar to each other.

From their members area, referral page:
Just as a reminder, please note that final Referral Credits (as stated in the promotion rules) for the "Get a Five for Twenty-Five Giveaway" will only be awarded to members who are engaged in financial professions and who refer people who are actively engaged in one of the four vertical markets covered by PDA Verticals: Healthcare, Law, Finance, or Real Estate. Users that do not meet these criteria are not eligible for this promotion and subsequently their registration will not result in the accumulation of Referral Credits.
-------------------
Sounds like fun to me. All 25 of your referrals must be to people in these professions.

This is a bad promotion.
Thumbs Down, to good to sound true.
ANd plus the technology for hand helds such as palm pilot could be better.
Who wants something that takes forever to write a name in and input the phone number.
The technology is there but not that good.
Yea I'll just wait a few more years to technolgy gets better for hand held devices.
