NSS: 3 job calls in one day

Dunno what the hell happened, monster must have some kinda "Featured resume of the day" or something, but I just got three calls from three companies looking for securitization people. Two offered me ~50% raise. Two years ago they wouldn't hire me to make their coffee...

Securitization is finance. You take, for example, a bunch of loans that were made when people wanted to buy a timeshare. You issue bonds that use the loans as collateral. When the loans pay down over the years the bonds are paid down also. The people who lent you the money through the bonds are paid by the principal and interest coming in from the loans.

I handle all of the information for that process in my company, its a great job and they need to pay me more. I don't think I'll leave yet, maybe in a year, unless somebody offers me nearly double my salary.

One company is not far from where I live, I could make the move easily. However, they want me to start ASAP and I can't leave my boss high and dry when there are two big deals coming up. He's way too nice of a guy, I owe him a lot.

Congrats on the job leads. Keep chacking on the one that wants someone fast. Things still take time to come together and if you tell them your situation they will probably work with you to find an accomodation.

i understand not wanting to leave a boss high and dry, but if you are being underpaid by 50% then maybe they are the ones leaving you high and dry. Just something to think about.
