    Petco Park and Pads

So I was in SD yesterday expecting to go to the "Night" game between Atlanta. Someone saw me in a Pujols jersey and suggested that at 12:30 I was going to miss the game if I didn't hurry. Anyway I went to Petco, and was baffeled. I was an hour late for the game, yet there were atleast 150 people in the buy tickets and willcall area. What is the deal!? I have never heard of this.

Anyway the game was great, and I really enjoyed seeing the stadium, Coors is better, but the visitor bullpen and sandbox also confused me quite a bit.

Got to wonder why they sell park passes, I wont complain front row for 5 bux aint bad.

Yeah, Monday and Tuesday were night games against Atlanta, but Wednesday was a day game. I didn't know you could get to other areas on a Park At The Park ticket though- that's a good deal! There are always seats that people don't use. This is outside the stadium on Monday. The Park is in the lower right corner. Coronado bridge on the left and the white ponty roofs on the right is the Convention Center.

Changed picture to a link - please keep pics 150k or smaller.

    Thumbs up Go Pads!

Nice picture! I was at the first game ever held @ Petco Park (I refer to it as PCP or Bark Park). I worked at Qualcomm Stadium (formerly Jack Murphy Stadium) for 7 years (2 Super Bowls, a World Series, and a lot of losing inbetween!) so I know a lot about their old digs, but this new stadium is very nice. It reminds me a lot of SBC Park in San Francisco.

Yes, the $5 Park Pass is the best deal. There are always people who don't make it into the $22 seats, so you can move up. The ushers don't really check tickets other than on the Club Level (Toyota Terrace I think it's called) and in the $40 lowest field seats. The bleachers under the scoreboard are great seats for just $12. GO PADS!

I get free parking for being a professor which is nice. Just have to flash them my campus parking pass.

    Wink Nice!

Sounds good. How many extra badges do you have??

You can always park at Horton Plaza and buy anything in the mall and get a 3 hr validation. If you get someone else's ticket stub (who is leaving the theatere) and bring it to the theater box office, you get 4 hours validation, which should cover you for the Padres game. --Ben Dogg
