I've never tried it, but my Mom uses it all the time for international calls - mainly between US & Australia and US & UK. She loves it.
I like it - I use it to talk to my friend in New Zealand, and my cousin in Taiwan.

I use it between norway and usa and Uk and usa. It is very easy to set up and sometimes better than a phone connection. And best of all if both have a broadband connection it is free!!!

I've used it to talk to my sister-in-law in singapore. It can be better than a cell phone at times...
My question is: how do you pronounce "skype"? I say "sky-pee", (two syllables), she says it as one syllable. (Like "skipe" with a long "i".)

I have Broadband but my friend has dial-up. Will it still work?
The pictures of the circuit board for the cordless phone: Did the guy solder the red and green wires to the board or some other method? Also I am having a hard time seeing where he attached the black wires.Originally Posted by Hoser

I am trying to learn more about skype because it sounds like it could be pretty awesome. Johnny did you end up using it yourself? Anyone else using it now?

No, my friend has dial up and Windows 98. It wouldn't be a very good match.Originally Posted by eSDeeLoco

I use it to speak with my best friend and his wife in Rochester, and also my family in Scranton. It works good.
I personally like google talk better. I've used both, and I think that google talk xfers packets better for voip. google talk lacks functionablity tho. Skype can do computer to phone calls, while google talk can only do computer to computer calls.
