apt hunting + moving + roommate

    so...i'm graduating (finally)!

i'm also moving to a new place. i have to be out of my current apt by beginning of july. i originally wanted my own place but can't seem to afford that. btw...i don't want a studio because i like having rooms -especially for cooking and entertaining.

i've been looking mainly in west LA and santa monica area since i do want to stay in the area (i currently live in palms and go to ucla if u didn't already know...). don't want to do hollywood just because of the traffic and the buildings are usually run down in that area.

my problem: since i can't afford a place of my own, i have to find someone who wants to share, but none of my friends need a place right now or they already have prior arrangements.

it's getting to be stressful looking for both a place and an apt-mate. any suggestions on what i should do? i've been mainly looking on craigslist and checking out places that i see on the streets (the ones with vacancy signs). didn't want to buy a westside rental password because i don't know how much of a help that would be.

    someone help me!

    first option: revil

second option: craigslist is still probably the best way to go.

or, maybe the daily bruin? hehe

    what's your budget?

i'm currently looking for places in the palms area too. it's been kinda frustrating for me and my fiancee. but a couple places look promising. we may possibly live on tabor.

good luck with the hunt. and congrats on your graduation!

Second the Craigslist. A few friends found roommates through that and they're happy.

    Congrats, T!

I will check and see if my friend is still looking for a room mate. It's out in those new condos/townhouse thingies by Marina Del Rey and it might be expensive...

cool... finding a nice 1bed/1bath for that range might be tough, but if you can find another person willing to pay the same price, you can get a spacious 2bed/2bath in palms.

I haven't been at UCLA for a couple years but from what I remember there were a bunch of apartment complexes in Westwood and Santa Monica where the managers let girls live there dirt cheap in exchange for occasional favors. One guy even showed a friend of mine a sliding scale once (I think that place was in Westwood on Gayley).

a friend of mine is moving out of her place in a week or so, and she lived by herself. her place is in the Colby & Santa Monica area, and its pretty decent. i can inquire about the details, if you'd like.
