Love the races. Did not go last year so definitely gotta go this year. I am one of those really big betters. ($2) LOL I went to a B52s concert once and had dinner at the Turf Club, it was very nice eating dinner overlooking the track.

My husband was there sitting up in the promised land of grand stand seating. He did okay. Came out a little ahead. He hates opening day betting because he says its all the favs that win. Can't get any good tickets going. He left this morning to go to Illinois for 10 days. He will be trying his luck at various places there. I get the bed to myself for 10 whole days!!
Isn't it amazing how the mind works after 33years of married life. Hope you did okay in the betting if you made it there.

Come to Del Mar Racetrack this weekend for our Pint Glass Set giveaway! The Pint Glass Set, offered for on-track patrons only, comes with its handy carrying box and is free with your paid or prepaid admission, while supplies last.

They feature a yellow and blue diamond Del Mar logo. Perfect for a cold beer or your beverage of choice, they are handsome, practical and dishwasher safe.

Del Mar Donuts Days returns on July 30th. Free donuts and coffee or juice are provided for fans, who will have the chance ask questions of the morning's guests -- trainer Bruce Headley, jockey Garrett Gomez and Steward Kim Sawyer. Track announcer Trevor Denman hosts the event which starts at 8:00 am at the Seaside Terrace on the west end of the grandstand. There are also activities such as face painting for kids, and you can watch the horses work out in the morning as well. August 20th will be the second and final Donuts Days of the meet.

I want to go when CAKE is playing. It's fun to go even if you don't bet much on the horses.

Cake is playing this Saturday the 13th.

Anyone have good suggestions for parking? I'm familiar with the fairgrounds. Does anyone know if parking in the back parking lot off Villa De La Valle is available or parking? (Or do you have any good tips for other parking?)

Here's a link of a map of the fairgrounds: http://www.delmarracing.com/include....s+Map&c=season

    Tickets up for Grabs

My hubby went to the Cake concert and said it was horrible. The singer is a full prima donna and said for all to hear that if the sound was not fixed he was not going to play anymore. What a let down it was and way too crowded.

Anyway I got in the mail two FREE admission passes valid on Saturday 9/3 and Sunday, 9/4. You can use one pass each day or bring a friend and use both passes on the same day. In addition I have a Mystery Mutuel Ticket that is valid on those days. It might be a little more valuable than usual. The ticket is worth a minimum of $2 but this time more than 33% of the tickets are worth at least $5. Also one lucky person will get a ticket worth 10k. If somebody would like these PM me your addy info and I will mail them to you.
I used to be with it but, then they changed what it was.
