as the title implies, my Internet connection at my apartment has been really bad in the last week.
first of all, my ISP is Comcast cable internet. in the west LA/Marina Del Rey area (sorry I don't know the model of my cable modem off the top of my head)
2nd of all, the problem started to occur ever since the the cable modem was turned off accidentally during the 7/4 weekend (I was gone, so who knows what happened).
the problem: connection is fine. however, it's just really, really slow. but only when surfing web pages. i've tried doing downloads, and after taking a looong time to connect, it downloads at rather normal speeds. but for surfing the 'net, it takes ~45 seconds to load www.google.com. Everytime I need to check my email, I have to login TWICE, because the first time I login (after entering my username and password) the browser will say "website not found". the 2nd time i login (after 1 minute or so) the email client will load. www.eBay.com and www.amazon.com takes over a minute to load the text, and usually doesnt even load the images on the website.
I've tried using both FF and IE, and both my and my roomate's computers have this problem, so if anyone knows whats going on, I'd highly appreciate the help!
