Falls Church, Va. (AP) - A 4-year-old has been turned over to Fairfax County (website - news) Child Protective Services after he was found wandering last night along the Beltway in Falls Church.

Virginia State Police say they determined he was left there by his mother after she became upset with him.

The mother, 22-year-old Channoah Alece Green of Newport News, has been charged with child neglect by Fairfax County Authorities.

State police picked up her son after ten last night following a call from a concerned motorist who had found the boy wandering along the Beltway near the Lee Highway overpass.

The child had cuts and bruises that were treated at Inova Fairfax Hospital.

Green also is facing a hit & run charge in connection with an accident north of Richmond that occurred around 11:30 last night.

Leaving a 4 year old child alone at night beside a beltway?!?! That is attempted murder.
The hit and run is for when she knocked the kid over with the car when he tried to get back in. She did not attempt to flee the accident she had 90 miles away.

How could a person be so defective as to do that to a 4 year old? I want to go cry.
