As most of you know my lady is a dog lover, and that pretty much makes me a dog lover to /jules. She was fostering a 12 year old blind corgie that was left in a night deposit box at the shelter She just needed to foster it for a few days until she could get it to Corgie rescue, and they were gonna find a home for her. For 4 days my girlfriend took care of her, and of course got attached to her. I was also enamored with her because she was such a courageous little dog, being blind and all and still seemingly enjoying life. Last Friday she got really sick all of a sudden, and so we took her into the Pet Emergency Hospital. The doc took a look at her and found she had a 106 degree temperature, probably induced by the grapefruit-sized tumor in her stomach. The doc recommended that we put her down, so we reluctantly did. My girlfriend held the dog in her arms as they euthanized her, crying the whole time. It was friggin sad.
Lots of people will read this and say it's just a dog. But animals can mean so much to people's lives and bring true joy and happiness. Many people can't even do that.
