You can find a red designer t-shirt for $92 here. Unbelievable! His closet must contain more money in clothing than most banks have on hand.
Awhile back he talked about how he bought his girlfriend an ipod and surprised her with a brand new car that has a built in ipod adapter for her birthday(or christmas). I would guess that Rick would be paid the least amount on the show, the only reason my guess isn't Randy is because Randy has been with them longer than Rick. What does his girlfriend do?
Sounds like they are all VERY well off, even whiny Laura.

my DH and I just put granite countertops in our kitchen - it was actually the ones from Granite Transformations that fit over your existing countertops so it was less expensive, but it's still a costly proposition, in general. A lot of the newer cars (at least the ones more oriented for the less than 40 year olds) come with some sort of iPod adapter build in - just went to the auto show and saw that.

I'm thinking that the rest of them (other than J&J) probably make in the high 100Ks or low 200Ks. I'm sure that Tommy is in the $300K range. It amazes me how when people start making more money, their perceptions change - a shirt for $92 may sound like a ton of money to us (I just got a BAGFUL of stuff from Kohls for $70!), but to them, it's nothing. The sad thing is that the radio biz is so transient, and when you're out of work, you're out for a while. Or you have to move to another city. I'd be socking that money away and not buying myself $95 shirts.

I work 2 jobs to keep my family afloat and am trying to scrape up money to buy enough "sticky tiles" to redo my kitchen floor. I felt guilty getting a manicure and pedicure with the $100 GC I got for Christmas from work instead of buying food or gas or something with it. Listening to Laura whine makes me want to throw up.

I think he bought her an SUV. Misty types the closed captioning for some of the national networks...I think CNN was one of them...so I'm sure she makes a pretty penny too.

Rick was also talking this morning about their place in the mountains, and his other truck that he uses when they are up there. I don't think they are too hard off.

This morining when they were talking about who has a million dollars in their account, I so wanted to call up and ask Jerry if he was one of them.

    Kristen's diary

    Kristen's updated diary exerpt>>>

    1/16/06)
Okay, I know I haven't written in a month but it's a new year and one of my resolutions is to write in my diary on a regular (i.e. weekly) basis. To all you who are doubting me right now, you won't be laughing when I stick to my resolution! I may end up giving up on all my other resolutions, but I'm sticking to this one, darn it!

Alright, quick recap of the past 4 weeks...Christmas in TN was wonderful. New Year's Eve back in San Diego was great. Took the kids to Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm. Pilates is going well - it's so hard but so worth it.
Speaking of pilates, I'm trying to get "wedding dress arms". My goal is Cameron Diaz's arms but I believe I'll settle for a little toning and a tan. Good news though! I found the bridesmaid dresses in about 15-20 seconds. I knew I wanted chocolate brown as the color and I walked in a store and found exactly what I was looking for literally in a matter of seconds. Good thing, since I was beginning to fall behind with the wedding planning timeline : ) The very next day I found my wedding dress! We still need a videographer and musicians and there are a few other details that need to be attended to but we're getting there!
Before my next diary entry, our goal is to design and print the "save the date" cards. Until then...
    Kristen

Interesting how she doesn't mention Jeff's name once......is this about the wedding and moving to California, or is it true love? I hope it's the latter, but I have my doubts...........

I hope I get my "save the date" card soon - my social calendar is really starting to fill up!

For a lot of women I know it's about the wedding and not the guy.

One woman I work with said that she wanted to get married before a certain age and if the guy she was with didn't want to get married by then she would find someone who would.

    How's that for true love.

Oh, and the guy proposed after she told him that. I feel bad for him.

I listened this morning and even actually called in. The singing thing suh-ucked. Sucked. It was horrible.

    So I called in.

    "This is Tommy."

"Oh my gawd, Tommy. Make it stop. This bit suu-uuu-cks. Dude, man, AJ's Playhouse is calling my name, help me not to push that button."

    "Thanks for calling."

Cadet Evon the grass really IS greenier over here at AJ's playhouse. I actually LIKE listening to them J&J are dunzo. The only reason to listen to them is to have stuff to post on here. But based on the activity here lately it seems as though everyone has given up on listening to them because as you so eloquently stated "they suh-ucked".

Ritchie why is it bad if a woman (or man) plans out her life and/or puts her foot down for what's important to Her? Reality is a woman's eggs have a shorter shelf life than a man's little swimmers. Look at Tony Randall! WTH! He was like a 100!!

Why do you feel bad for him? He wasn't forced into proposing, he was given the opportunity to move along, if he wasn't on the same page as she was. I was blessed when I met my husband he told me he was at the stage in his life that he was done dating for the sake of dating, that he was looking for a wife. It sounds like that's where your woman friend is at in her life.

    Home Buffet

Jeff was talking this morning about how often he frequents this place. No wonder he has a weight problem. Everything is FRIED and full of calorie laden sauces.

    I need some recaps. . .

    What is a DH?

Can someone recap the babyfood scam story for me, sounded interesting, but I only caught the very tail end.

    Thank you,

  15. #975

Wink Re: I need some recaps

I did not hear the mention of "DH", but on computer blogs it usually means "dear husband."

The story about the grocery store scam went something like this:

Jerry stood in line at Vons behind a woman who was buying baby food. The total bill was for around $12. She told the clerk she didn't have enough money. Upon hearing this, Jerry gave her $20 to cover her bill. She then paid her bill, pocketed the change, and left without even thanking Jer.

Once he got into his car, he realized that he forgot to buy carrots for his bunnies, so he went back into the store. Once inside, he noticed that the same woman he gave the $20 to was at the service desk presumably getting a refund for the baby food purchase. He then went on to say that this could be a quite scam that this woman is running because she could be going to stores all over the place and pulling that same act.

    Hope this answers your questions...

I was surprised also.... I hate people like that....makes it hard to trust people or give money to people since you don't know if they really need it....

I had an experience years ago outside the Boll Weevil on Midway. There was a nicely dressed guy that came up to us and asked us for money so he could buy gas to get to L.A.. We gave him $5. We came out afterwards and there he was in the parking lot with a bottle of booze. My friend asked for his $5.00 back and told the guy he felt he was dishonest. I couldn't believe it, but the guy gave him the $5.00 back....which means he obviously had money on him. Another scame\. I cautioned my friend, that he should have not gone up to the guy again because he could have pulled a knife on him.

    What goes around comes around.

I think we are all suspicious about giving to strangers.
I look at it like I did the right thing, but where it goes from there (i.e. how they spend it) is their karma/consequences to deal with.

That was my point. What's important to her is getting married. It doesn't matter to who as long as she is married. Those eggs have a shelf life, as you put it, so she better find someone.

My point was that it isn't about the person, it's about getting married. I feel bad for the guy because once she has her kids, she will have no use for him. At that point there really is no reason to stay married because if she divorces him then he will still have to support the child.

When it was mentioned that in Kristin's diary she made no mention of the man she was getting married to, it made me think of this. I hope that isn't the case here.

Wow.....I don't even know how to respond... To be completely honest I have never met anyone like that, I have seen them on tv or movies but not real life.

I'm a mom (my screen name is not false advertising) I don't see how anyone could look at the father of their children as a sperm donor and not as the other half of your child. I take it you don't have children, because you would know that raising them takes a LOT more than a child support check. I'm so glad that my husband and I did it together (waking up in the middle of the night, daycare, dance, sports, school functions, friends, baths, bedtimes, meals, laundry...I could go on and on but I think you get it)

But I guess you hit the jackpot in friends and met a "Andrea Yates". If you truly don't think she loves him and is just out to have kids. Do her "future" kids a favor and talk them out of marriage.

So at 50 years of age you think Jeff is ready to father MORE kids? He needs to be careful, that child support is not going to be getting any cheaper and the ALIMONY to Nina! Oh the horror I tell ya! I think Jeff needs to keep you no what in his pants and look forward to having grandchildren at his age not MORE children. I believe his oldest is well into her child bearing age and may infact be getting married soon.

LOL, as soon as she started telling the story I was telling my radio, "It's the pink Mabeline stuff. It's the pink Mabeline stuff."

My son thought I was being weird, so I told him, "Wait, you'll see she'll say it's the pink Mabeline stuff."

Now he thinks I can read minds.

Jeff had a vasectomy (2 times), so he can leave his you know what in his pants, or take it out - it doesn't really matter. However, he's got some of his "little guys" on ice in case he wanted to have more kids after he had the vasectomy.

Five kids by two wives is plenty for most people . Hopefully, he'll realize that (and hopefully Kristin will realize that even though he makes a TON of money, a lot of that money goes to his "last family".

Jeff seems to be someone who is addicted to "babies" (in more ways than one)....so, maybe the "little guys" will be defrosted after all.

    Eyelash Extensions

Listening to the "showgram" this morning (don't have my XM radio with me today at work). Laura was complaining that her eyelash extensions were starting to fall out. Not surprised.....she got what she paid for.

Perhaps she should just do what the rest of the working world does and get some nice mascara at the drugstore (I'm sure Jer's wife could make a recommendation). Then, get up 2 minutes early to allow time to apply the mascara to her lashes.

Oh, Laura - don't be like the rest of the maniacs on the road and apply it while you're driving - I'm thinking that might not be very safe.
