It seems she isn't on that much tho. Lots of songs and commercials. Is that what you find too?

Monique is funny when she talks, but too many commercials makes me switch to other channels and forget to go back.

As posted earlier. The line from Howard Stern's "Private Parts"...I'm paraphrasing...There are more people listening who hate Howard than love him. It's a Win-Win for the station's ratings.
Working? Boring the holy hockey sticks out of your listeners means its working? Dude, read the posts... People are CHANGING THE STATION because Jeff and Jer and cohorts are ANNOYING. Thats a bad thing.

I'll bet the same people who enjoy watching a train wreck, enjoy listening to Jeff and Jer. Its sadism to the extreme.

In addition, Jeff and Jer along with the associated dirtbag producer will never have a tenth of the talent and originality of Howard Stern. I may not agree with Stern's politics, but he is interesting and original. People listened to Stern for his entertaining shock value....And there ain't nothin' shocking/entertaining about Jeff and Jer's material......at all.

I agree - Howard Stern is a pig, but at least he had a purpose - to be a pig. THAT's HIS mojo - not J&J. Howard Stern has a definite listener demographic - and J&J try to appeal to a much broader audience. BIG BIG difference. And while Howard succeeds in being a pig, J&J have lost their appeal to their broader audience.

Tom: I think the problem here is that J&J do have a loyal listener base, but we expect more from them - not the same old rehashed stuff time and time again. It's stale. Now, I don't presume to know how to produce radio shows, but I do listen to them, and I have listened to them my entire life, and I've gotta say - even radio stations in much smaller markets are more creative than what's going on with the "showgram". And, I'm not the one making an ungodly amount of money producing and starring on them.

The listeners expect more given the salaries that are earned on that show. The other problem is that in giving J&J those salaries at this new station, they lost the rest of their DJs (probably because they couldn't afford them). We listen to more than just your 2 hour radio show each day (which is basically what you're down to). What's left is Jack, basically. Except they have something more appealing on the morning show now (I'm sure that will get old, too, at some point).

Long story short - until different, more interesting stuff is done on the show, you're going to hear the disenchantment. And while you may say that we're only a small group of people, we speak for your demographic.

    Well said, L-13

Back in '88 or '89 when they first got here, I was roofing houses listening to Tommy run into donut shops with lawnmowers and calling phone booths. Back then it was funny. But I grew up... and eventually changed the channel. I go to forums like this now just to keep up on what's happening with the old crew. That's it. Do I listen? Not much...I'm way more into Sports talk radio than teeny-bop Mile of Men schtick. What I didn't understand about this forum is that everyone hates them so much, but still seems to know their every move (Obviously from listening). That's what I don't get. I know, I know, the forum reads, 94.1 DRAMA club, but come on - If you bang your head enough times - eventually you would stop banging your head, right?

Just the opinion of a former listener who turned the knob when it didn't work anymore.

    Tom:
I think we listen because we're cockeyed optimists. And we're hoping that the old J&J will come back someday - they were fun back in the day......

Mostly, I listen because, no matter what drama goes on in MY life, I'm still mentally in a better place than Laura. I guess it's the same reason why people watch Jerry Springer.

    I can respect that.

    Heh Jeff & Nina

I use to listen to Jeff & Jer faithfully since the early 90's until I became a stay-at-home mom. Then I would listen to J&J occasionally, until the past few years. I would still look at their website & read Laura's diary.

A few months ago, I saw Jeff's engagement pics & the ring he bought his fiancee. I was shocked! I had no idea that he & Nina divorced. It makes me so sad! I listened to him BEFORE they ever got married, then when she got pregnant with Mark and then Laura, and I even caught the program where he talked about their last birth, Elisabeth & how Nina grabbed the baby out. I can remember Jeff reading a letter he wrote to Laura on the day she was born, how he'd be there to walk her down the aisle when she gets married, ect. And I remember Jeff reading letters he wrote to Nina that would make me tear up. I thought they'd be together forever!!

Anyhoo...that's when I started searching to find out more about their divorce and found this forum. You all make me laugh. You write the things that I think about the showgram! The complaining about money like they're on a budget or something! YEARS ago when they left B-100 (was that the station?), I was told by somebody in the radio industry that J&J made well over a million a year. I didn't believe the person because Jeff (in particular) would always be yapping about money.

Then Laura. I listened one morning when she was talking about fixing up her house they owned, yet they needed a renter for condo. So they owned two places at that time. Then I read in her diary that they were renting a house & hoped to buy in the future when she gets their finances together. How does that happen?! And I nearly fell off my seat when I read that the nanny went to Hawaii with them. Don't talk about money problems when you can afford for a family trip to Hawaii & pay a nanny to go along. And this was shortly after Laura (according to her diary) depleted their savings to buy Dave that dream car of his. Wasn't that less than a year ago? How do you go from broke, and now be able to buy a house?

No You are LUCKY!! Free tickets Wow! I wasn't a fan of LennyK until I saw him..So Much FUN!

When I listen its because I can't get 93.3, Jack still sucks, or I don't feel like listening to Bill Handel (Thank you Chris) and I agree with Listener13....there's that eensy beensy bit of hope that they will get their funny back.

The reason she isn't on as much is because everyone was complaining that there wasn't enough music. Now they are playing more music and people are still complaining. What gives?

Aerosmith WAS great huh? It was my first time seeing them. I saw LennyK a few years ago at Coors with Pink. I really like him. I had alot of fun and it was FREE except for the $10 parking.

My husband surprised me for my birthday and also got tickets. Since we don't care about Lenny, we showed up at 9PM...only to find he was just finishing up. Long wait for Aerosmith to come on! Interesting people watching though.... We were only disappointed that some of our favorites songs didn't make the cut this time....no Love in An Elevator? no Ragdoll? no PINK????? I guess they didn't want to play all the same songs as last year. I've been to see them more than a few times and they put on a great show every time. Always good seeing my homies from Boston! And we parked outside the gates for free....I don't like paying $10 for parking!

    Krattchick:
You're right - now I remember that stuff, too. It's sad. They seemed to be very happy for a while, but I think they probably grew apart as Nina started doing more with the Padres, etc. It was sweet when Jeff wrote letters to their children on the day of their birth.

Looks like now the engagement between him and Kristen is off (but I haven't listened since the week before last, and so much changes on the show, except, of course, Laura's constant whining about how she has no money, and her mindless drivel about all the fake stuff she's doing or going to do to herself - yada yada yada).

Hey guys - is the engagement still on or off? Hopefully the sperm bank donation wasn't defrosted yet.........

Who here actually thinks the Monique and the Man show is any good? Forget about Jeff and Jer, Monique may have the BEST gig going in San Diego Radio! She makes $1 Million a year in salary and is only on in short burst segments that average about 1 minute of talk time every 12 minutes! The rest of the show is filled with commercials and music. The only way to follow her radio bit each day is to listen to the entire 4 hour show. She's only on for maybe 20 minutes at the most during her entire radio show! Based on that math, she actually makes more per minute than the entire J&J showgram!

Great, now J&J are going to ask for raises and will be on the air even less time than they are now!

On the plus side, to make up for their raises, maybe they'll have to let that whiney Mel go from the afternoon show - she's got a voice that can bend steel....it's not pretty.

I think the station is trying to appease everyone. First everyone says she talks too much, then they cut the talk time and people complain because there is too much music and commercials. If you listen betwen 5 & 6 she seems to be on more and she really jump starts my day. Very whitty and very smart.

    Is ANYONE listening this week?

Given the high volume of postings this week (NOT), I'm thinking you're all with me, and NOT listening to the showgram. I'm thinking we're not missing much (yet again).

It'll be interesting to see what dramas happened to these people when they return on Monday. Things we can be sure of:

Jeff - played online poker in his underwear and gained more weight
Jerry - was an obnoxious American in another country
Tommy - smacked around at least one woman
Randy - stayed at home on his Mom's plastic covered sofa eating Chex cereal
Laura - lost at least one of her children and is bald on the left side of her head - she may have also stepped on a rake doing lawnwork or something
Rick - cracked himself up all week

Yeah there's a LOT of drug problems in Seattle....

Actually, I have been listening, and laughing my head off...except for today when they replayed all of their love songs AGAIN!!!

They are playing their old, old stuff. I've heard it all before, but it is the good stuff, that I used to laugh at, and it's still funny. Gosh, I miss those days

I'm guessing on Monday we'll either hear that Randy got engaged on Valentines day during their vacation in some romantic place OR Jeff got married. Any guesses as to which one is more accurate?

    We needed the vacation

It's always nice when the idiot bunch goes away for a while to give us time to detox. I really doubt that Jeff is still with his little Christian nymph. I think she probably discovered what a freak he is and headed back to ma and pa in good old Tennessee. I can't stand those stupid house boat commercials Laura does. I HATE the way she says "Lake Havasu," in that whinny, fake voice. I listened to Adam Corolla this week on 103.7. Pretty good...

    Found this on the internet:

"In other radio news, Kristen Hammond has a new website announcing her upcoming move to San Diego where she will marry the legendary Jeff & Jer."

Looks like she is actually marrying BOTH of them....hmmmm.....wonder if Pam knows.

Oh, I know - just thought it was interesting that this guy said she's marrying both of them! The thought alone is nausiating to me.

Or, maybe she's some sort of new-fangled evangelistic minister who would actually be marrying Jeff and Jer to each other? "Brokeback Showgram"

    Wth???

"Best of" How long is their vacation? I mean I know they need/deserve one, you know working their fingers to the bone 45 minutes a day and all.

I'm anxious to find out if Laura comes home with all her kids or any infectious diseases.

Will Tommy come back with another fiance? Is 50 year old Jeff going to fess up that 35 year old Kristen has moved back to TN? How many stories will we hear about pompous BaZillionaire Jer giving $99cent store crayons and water paints to homeless children in another country?

I've kinda given up on Randy making the big move...does Debbie REALLY exist..I mean I've seen her, but I think she's just a paid escort.
