She's not? She interned with J&J in the mid-to-late 90's before she became a regular with them. Then she held the title of Program Director (I have no idea what that means/entails???) when she did the afternoon drive with Greg Simms on the old Star!!

$30,000 good grief, that isn't much at all, they should pay their talent more so they can afford to go out and do fun stuff so they have more experiences they can share on the air. Haven't they learned that lesson from listening to Randy?? I guess that is why the ho themselves out to the on air advertising and endorsements??

.....I assume you mean everyone other than J&J and Little T, who make a boatload of money for doing the same old schtick, over and over and over again?

Jen has earned not 1 but 2 Mercedes Benz automobiles from her talent and role as a music director all while still in her 20's. I'm sure her salary at one point was 6 figures.

We were talking about Jen...and it is all speculation, not fact.

Again...we are all guessing....nothing is based on pure fact. So let's not get out knickers in a knot. LOL

    The pure fact is HERE:
    http://www.sdreader.com/published/2005-04-14/blurt.html

"As music director Sewell was credited for helping to break Santana's "Smooth" and Sting's "Desert Rose" as national hits. She won new Mercedes-Benzes in both 1999 and 2000 as part of a national competition for radio execs who can best predict new hits."

I really don't understand your comment that she is young and wet behind the ears- she's been in the industry over 10 years, had a very successful radio show and is in her 30's.
I think Rick and Jen would be funny.

I caught the "best of" show for a little while today and for once I really laughed my arse off. They were playing Cracky again. so, so miss those days.

I agree, it was a good week. Do you guys think they own the rights to all the material they put on the air? Were they able to take the JACK stuff with them? Smart legal move on their part!

Been reading these posts for a long time - this is my first time actually making a post. Won some SeaWorld tickets by listening to Jeff & Jer on my computer this morning.

    Details are here: http://www.jeffandjer.com

Called streaming rewards or something like that. Very easy to do.

    Good luck.

Why does this post sound like someone from the station trying to generate interest in this promotion?

I saw it as well but I guess I didn't win. That's OK, I'm going there this weekend!

Here's something that would generate interest - a decent show! Forget about all of the promotions, and just do some new schtick!

I tuned in online to the "best of" show and heard Laura going on about D.J. names for everyone (as in a dance club dj). I couldn't stand it and turned it off as soon as I could.

It was horrible. Stuff that is funny to them only and no one else has any interest in.

    Seaworld

Went to SeaWorld yesterday and I have to agree with BELIEVE not being worth it. The music is annoying and after all the waiting, the show was only 1/2 hour long.

I don't suggest going on a weekend because at some of the places, you're like cattle moving along and the places don't have any air circulation. They charge around $54 (which doesn't include the $10 to park) to get in...they can't afford to get some air conditioning in some of the places? And FYI, the Penguin part is closed which was my main reason for going. They have a section open but it's not the section with the Emperor penguins. Not sure when that's re-opening.

Overall, it's a fun trip (though NOT cheap) and well worth it if you upgrade to the fun card (for $5 more) that gets you in all year long but I couldn't do that because I had "complimentary" tickets.

    Have fun if you're going!

So, what do you all think of J&J getting that interview with the guy who interviewed John Lennon, the "lost" tape and all that? Why in the world would someone with something so important/rare (if that's what it is) release it on their show?

I was driving to a doctor's appointment this morning, and right about 10, Laura was calling into her celebrity sightings voicemail box. They played this NEVER ENDING message by someone who saw the guy who played McGuiver on TV - OMG! It went on FOREVER! I had to change the channel. Seriously, Showgram - think about the poor listener! Think outside the box - just because you think it's funny - doesn't mean that anyone else will.

This is nothing news....it's been everywhere national and local. They did not get any big scoop. I heard it over the weekend on tv and radio.

Oh, I'm really out of the loop. I haven't had time to watch tv or listen much to radio even lately.

I heard the same thing and just about shoved my bic pen in my ear so I wouldn't have to listen. I couldn't belive they were filling time by playing a voicemail message. And one so long and stupid.

Oh and Laura jumped in at the end about the actor being out of work or washed up or something like that. Too bad she never heard of Stargate SG1. From what I can tell, Richard Dean Anderson is still a working actor.

    what's going on with forum

What's going on with this forum? It's all messed up now and it's difficult to access. Has Tommy hijacked the server?

    Why the show sucks...

Looks like they upgraded VBulletin software when they should have switched to UBBthreads. :-)

Haven't posted in a while so I thought I would discuss reasons for the showgram's horrid demise. I have a couple theories

    1. Wife beating producer has burned too many bridges in the industry and/or too strung out on drugs/alcohol/gambling/strippers to perform his job adequately.
    2. Tracy Johnson (and staff) provided more creative/interesting programming.
    3. Show members are burned out or short timers.
    4. Clear channel has put the cuff on content.

    Any thoughts?
