Everybody jokes around, but they have a job to do on the Showgram and they have to pull everybody together and make it happen. We listeners can't ever know how much is planned in advance or how much just happens, like with Tommy and Michelle.
But these are people's lives they are dealing with, so to think that they staged people getting engaged is really out there.
Dilbert, they are in the entertainment BUSINESS! They would kill one of their own if it meant higher ratings and more bucks in their pockets!
Anyone curious to know if Tommy pawns off that $25,000 engagement ring on Michele that he bought for Christie and then used it to propose to a 2nd lady who turned him down? How long ago was it when Tommy was ping-ponging off getting engaged to two different people within a few weeks of one another? This is Tommy's 3rd engagement since Donnell.
I don't think Dilbert is someone from the showgram. I think it's a troll who's getting off (probably literally too) on any attention being paid to him/her. Who knows how many accounts trollie has on different types of forums just to get the attention he's lacking in his pathetic personal life. He probably doesn't even know who everyone's talking about when he posts. He seems to repeat what someone else posts. I think when people stop responding, he'll go back where he came from...

My thoughts exactly. She's Laura's twin from the stables. Twisted baby!
She's single (I bet there's a story there!) and has three kids - one of whom is a toddler. When I used to see her on my commuter bus, from the beginning of her pregnancy until after it - she never wore a ring. She drives a nice, white Expedition.... I think she wants and is into money (you get that vide from her) and needs a daddy for her kids.

WOW! Well I just returned from Eddie & Vanessa's school's where I had to pull them out of class for a minute to announce the news to them. He had visitation with them on Wednesday and told them for the first time that Michelle was his girlfriend. Given that, Vanessa joked about him eloping on Thursday. Today was not so funny. She cried and Eddie was dismayed. I thought it was my job to advise them before a staff member at the school or a parent after school decided to tell them to "congratulate" the super genious Dad of the year. I only wish he had the decency to tell his own children, but as usual I'm left to clean up his dirty laundry.
I simply told them there are plenty of people in the world who make rash decisions only to regret them later. There is a right way and a wrong way to get married. First you date and get to know each other, then you do things with the kids and families and friends and then you date some more and then you consider a long engagement. I think it flipped him out when he met Pete in June. He went off the deep end.
Thank you to the posters who emailed me privately for the update. You see... I need other ears because I learn everything second hand. Also, thank you to the poster who advised me of the bail bond commercial. It like everything else was inappropriate and has been pulled.
I know I said I wouldn't post here and I appreciate those of you who are concerned for the well being of my children. Your emails and knowledge have/are helping me to protect them from emotional injury.
I'm not posting this to harm Tommy in any way. I believe he loves his kids in his own way. Whatever that may be. He is obsessive compulsive and doesn't think things through. So rash decisions are the norm for him.

Dannell, thanks for the update and dealing with the kids and Tommy. Yep, it sure sounds to a lot of us that Tommy is being impulsive. Marriage is very serious business and he's only known this girl less than two months. Sorry you and the kids have to deal with the fall out from him in this case.
It just sounds so sudden and risky that he is jumping into something with this girl, and probably neither one is really ready or has thought it all through.

I remember seeing you years back when you used to sell scrapbook supplies at the Koby's Swap Meet. You were talking with some women who were interested in your supplies and Toady was in the back on the phone kind of whispering. That said volumes to me about him.
I'm so glad the kids have at least one grounded parent. I'm sure it's gonna be a hard time for them but it's good to see you'll help them through all that chaos. Unfortunately as they get older, the memories they'll have of their father are gonna be as a skirt-chaser who makes impulsive stupid ill-thought-out decisions with regards to pretty women, the same father who took forever to decide to get a DVR or Tivo (whichever it was Laura mentioned in her diary). Pretty soon his every-couple-of-years proposals will be met with rolled eyes when they hear it from someone other than him. Good look to you and the kids, Dannell. You're a special lady.

Dilbert, IMO, your redundant takes are beyond annoying and it's real obvious that you're a shill for the show and/or just yankin' us for your own amusement. With that said, I truly get the impression that Dannell is a good mom to her kids and a kind person over all, so I appreciate you treating her with dignity and respect - rather than making light of her obvious concern.

Dannell: It's sad when those people can't separate radio "stunts" from reality.....clearly Tommy is thinking more about ratings than his own children. But yet he blogs us all Ad Nauseaum about how he's this great dad, and he's doing the right thing, and he's really healthy, and he puts his kids first, yada yada - you've heard it all - in his MIND he's all of those things, but obviously, he's NOT.
One of these days, these people are going to have to learn how to separate stunts from reality.....especially when it starts hurting their families.
I don't know Vanessa, Eddie (or you for that matter), but I do hope that the kids are going to be okay with their father's rash decisions. I do think a lot of this has to do with the fact that you have moved on and you're in a good place - and I'm not sure if you have remarried, but he may have been trying to beat you to the alter for some immature reason.

sooooooo - did anyone notice what a big deal they made about "their" special song playing in the backround? If you watch the video, you'll notice that there was no music...it was only on their headphones and on the air for listeners. Michelle didn't hear it at all!! Good Grief...what a load of barf.

Look, they need some drama after this. At first it was Laura, and rehab. That passed. Then it was tommy and laura living together, that to passed. Now its Tommy with his new lady. It can not just end with that. There must be another source of drama to pull people in. There needs to be a story.
This man is a preditor... I went to the walk in which he met her....he was checking out all of the girls...basically it was all women/girls except for my husband and I. I got such an awful feeling about him, he is short, fat and ugly. I never attended a walk again. That girl would not have given him the time of day if he was not "Tommy/Smurf". Even my 11 year old daughter thought he was creepyWhat an insensitive creep to ask a woman to marry him without seeing how his children and hers feel about it!!! Well the joke is on him now....he has 5 kids to take care of, plus Lauras 2 and how many exs do they have between them....he probably won't have time to blog. I feel for all of the children he will and already has hurt
