I'm not blaming them, I wouldn't be able to fake it either, but it's funny listening to them try.

Did you catch Whoever the guy is that booked the groups say that Switchfoot wanted as much money as another group, but he said they weren't worth it and that they settled for a lesser amount and that he knew that they would end up settling. Then Jeff said something like "they're no Train" or "they won't pull in the people like Train"
I think they are both in the same category, and making comments like that is probably the reason they have such crappy acts.

Train is the headliner, nuf said

Seriously, can we get some more white people singing please.

    This is too funny

Ok- I just went on Ticketmaster to see what tickets are available.
In the past JingleBalls are sold out within minutes.
Section A row 3 is still available, they have been on sale over 15 minutes!!

I think these tickets will be as popular as the bobbleheads are on eBay

I think they'll still have a full house because if it gets close to the end and they still have tickets, they'll just give a bunch away. Even for charity, I just don't have extra money to spend on bands I don't want to see.

Hey! I got my 3rd star today...thank you! Hold your applause!

Yeah, I just checked out the tickets too. I could have had section B row 3 just a few minutes ago.

I am bummed because JingleBall has been really fun in the past~ based on the ticket sales we aren't the only ones who are not excited. I would go if I won them free but theres NO way I would pay for them.

Congratulations on your star!! and you don't even neff

Thanks! I have been to a few Jingle Balls and while most of them have been fun, some have also been a bust. They can't seem to bring back the good acts like Bon Jovi, Duran Duran, Barenaked Ladies...even Steve Polz! Maybe I'm just getting old.... I didn't like the B-52's when they were popular. I'll never forget that year that Melissa Etheridge was the second to last act and after she finished, the crowds poured out. Poor Jars of Clay! And they were actually good! Who the heck made that schedule? They had to know that would happen. Well, hopefully next year's lineup will be much better. At the last one I went to, I did notice that their videos between acts were getting much better. I'm busy that night so even a free ticket wouldn't get me there.

Best available is now Terrace so I bet they will sell out by end of today.

It goes to show ya, it's probably too much to do if you start a new job in September, get folks to jump over, throw a thank you party in November -AND- Jingle Ball too. It was too much - too soon. I'll bet next year's Jingle Ball will be better and back the what it was before.

With that said. This IS still for Becky's House. There are women who are in abusive situations right now that need help. So- I'll be there, whether it's The Rolling Stones or Joe Blow and the All-Clarinet Geek Band

I may be the minority, but frankly I'm gettting tired of Star using Becky's house. This is a great cause for women but seriously, I don't approve of the way Star is riding the coat tails of this serious problem. Especially since Becky's supposed discovery was made by a convicted wife beater and stalker. Oh, the irony....

    ...........wow..............................that's a REALLY deep thought.....
pretty yuck especially the reality of that statement...
Sorry but that really brought it down a couple of notches for me..

I think anything that is raising money for a good cause, cancer, battered women, even blonds with walking and gum chewing issues is a really good thing. (that was a joke to hopefully make someone laugh/ I am blond I laugh easily...especially at myself )

You know, I've never looked at it from that perspective. You're right. If what was posted earlier in this thread about Tommy is true, that is ironic, to the extreme.

They just said that all the high end tickets were sold immediately. we know that's a lie. They are saying that they are almost sold out and to get your tickets now.

Ok someone please share the secret to getting through for party tickets. I have gone to the things, call in constantly only to get a busy signal or a ring only to be finished with a busy signal.

You KNOW they are going to have Tommy singing his song...do you really want to subject yourself to that? Another bit they are stretching out to death. I was out of town last Friday. Who decided who won that contest? Did they take 11 calls and he got to screen them as they came in? I hardly think his was the best. I still miss the old Jeff and Jer...I think they are gone forever.

Thank You I needed someone to put everything in perspective...
This morning after trying since 3am, I actually gave my husband an ugly look when he said he didn't want me to pay for tickets- He's an awesome guy even went with me to the car dealership for the raffle- I did pay him back by taking him to the pub for the afternoon (I was his DD) Well I have a $94.10 room. Is there a way to transfer that rate to someone who has tickets? All the rooms are now $140

    I don't get it

Ok Green Monsta I'm a glutton for punishment and I want to win that beautiful ring.
I called and got through and they said You are caller 5....I call back and they say Congratulations you are a winner!
I was so excited!!! I was the winner of an NFL experience
What the Heck??? They announce caller #9 gets tix to the party and then I get NFL experience tickets...I said no thanks, it is wednesday night.
Husband and I are not big footbal fans. I am kicking myself now for not taking them I could've given them away, sorry for being so selfishly shocked. Seriously what is up with that????

Sorry, but that made me laugh out loud. You can only win the ring if he doesn't propose...and he would be stupid not to because although he doesn't have to pay a mortgage, he spends all of his money on Star Wars stuff. I know it's all a bit (because, isn't everything they do?) but I'm not sure which way this is going....

Funny but my cousin is in town and staying at that hotel. I'm sure it'll be crazy there on Thursday. I'm assuming when you say that your husband doesn't want you paying to go, you are talking about Thursday, not JingleBall, so I'm also assuming you mean paying on EBay. I think people are crazy that are paying hundreds of dollars to go to this but wonderful for those taking advantage and making a few bucks! Wish I had thought of it. Bottom line, don't know what to tell you! You can still try to win them - and you still are eligible since you passed on the NFL Experience. Yeah, what's with that? I thought they only had that at the Super Bowl. Let us know what happens! Oh, as for the transfer of the room rate. I'm not sure how that works. I guess you could attempt to change the name if you want....saying that you want to put it in your husband's name...or sister...and say that they are getting there before you or something. Work your magic!

Why the heck would you pay for a hotel room. I assume you live in San Diego. A taxi ride would have been a lot cheaper.

Anyway....you can go on e-bay and buy a pair of tickets for $2,500. For what? You have to pay for your own drinks and they will probably have platters of cheese and crackers as the food. Why waste your time.

Well each of the acts will only sing one or two songs....so it's not a "big" concert. Star got into it too late this year. In the past Tracy Johnson worked on it for months to line up acts. There are a bunch of acts that tour the Jingle Balls around the country and that is what they have to pick from. This year they had a casino handle the booking because they got in too late and that is what is left to entertain.

Your assumption was correct! I told him that I wanted to buy the party tix on eBay- I could care less about Jingleball this year. He looked at me like I was on crack. I'm starting to feel like it actually, I think a busy signal does some kind of weird hypnosis on your brain My husband suggested that we stay there and just sneek in.hehehhe- sounds fun but what's the point without an entry??

After she told me I won the NFL, I asked her "are you serious? Yes..."are you joking?" she said no, she said that it is a meet and greet with football players Nov 9.

Whiskers I live in Carlsbad and I'm pretty sure that a cab ride would be close to or more than $100 for the hotel room, besides staying the night at a nice hotel with my handsome husband is totally worth the $$$

If I don't win I won't be heart broken-it IS kinda lame that I want to go..."Thank You Lord!" that this is annonymous

Here's my guess how it goes down ...

Randy does propose, and although happy for the couple, the crowd's disappointed about not getting a chance at the ring.

Miraculously, they will produce another ring to be given away ...

    Yeah, crack sounds about right!

Yeah, you'll never be able to stay at the Hilton for that price so that is worth it. Paying tons of money on tickets everyone is getting for free is not. If Bon Jovi or U2 were appearing, I'd consider it.

Anonymous? I know who you are. Just kidding. I'm sure some people can figure out who I am from what I say.

That's a mighty expensive ring to give away two! They aren't getting THAT much free advertising....

    They could be.

After all, that was a retail price they were quoting. I'll bet that ring costs them 1/3 that much.

Soooo....Either Randy won't propose that night -or- he will propose but use a different ring. Probably one furnished by that jeweler.

And since they have been hyping up Randy's relationship with that "new" girlfriend for so long on the air, I bet they trade out advertising for a very nice ring for Randy to give her on his own terms with nothing out of his pocket.

His convictions are posted on the San Diego County Superior Court website, this is public record, you can find it on the internet..he was charged and convicted with spousal abuse in one case with his ex wife and the other case was a stalking charge with someone's name I didn't recognize.
