GotApex Review: Asus S-Presso Home Theater PC

Since I am getting no love from LPMiller, although he did put up with a massive review, I will post this.

I take a look at the Asus S-Presso HTPC. It has many great features and delivers on it's promises. Check it out and leave some feedback, or else!

These things are getting nicer each year.
Still looks a little too big for me.
I really want that remote for all the controls and basic surfing.

It is a little large, Asus could perhaps make it a bit smaller. The PC itself isn't much wider than the 5.25" bay, but the plastic shell makes it larger. I was going to include that comment in the review but I forgot.

I really like the idea of being able to use it without having to go through the hassle of booting up the OS. Seems like that area could still use a little refinement but I have high hopes for it. There are tons of times when I'd like to listen to MP3 music or something but my computer is off. It is high time for the computer to join the TV, radio, and every other device I have by being useful on my schedule.

And nice review. Of course you need to post benchmarks but for a device like this I am more interested in how it handles media. So I was glad to see you spending a lot of time there.

They have been paying more attention to that aspect. I think they need a bit better GUI for the non-OS booting instead of just the straight button system, but what they have works well.

I try to customize the review to what the core reason for the system, which wasn't really gaming as much as it was htpc. There aren't many benchmarks there.

    thanks for reading
