This may sound weird but clear your cookies and use netscape for cheaper prices at amazon.com. Check out this article

Yeah, I read about that. Pretty messed up cause who uses Netscape anymore? It seems like most everybody, except for those diehard programers and such, uses IE.
Anyhow, it will probably be over in a couple of days. kinda weird though.

Re: Amazon Reply
Thank you for writing to us at Amazon.com.
From time to time, we test and re-evaluate various aspects of our web
site to determine which characteristics drive customer purchases and
satisfaction. We've learned that certain aspects of our site resonate
with customers in different ways, and we are continually fine-tuning
our presentation--site design, layout, price, customer reviews--to
provide our customers with the greatest value, selection, and
information for their online purchasing decisions.
These tests are conducted for a brief period during which certain
sections of our web site will appear differently to randomly selected
Amazon.com customers. Price is one aspect we may test, and
accordingly, that means that some customers may pay a different price
for select items. However, please bear in mind that the discounts we
offer on items in our catalog do vary even when we are not testing our
site.
I hope that I have been able to address your concerns. We value your
business and look forward to serving you again in the near future.
Best regards,
Bill Walker

hmm... Well constructed reply. So, they are testing, huh.
Well, maybe, but I DO know that prices change rapidly. Ihave those Cambridge 5.1 Surround speakers (the black ones) in my cart and it has gone down $60 in price since I first put it in. I am not complaining, of course.

Hmmm. the price differences might turn out to be more complicated than just which browser you use. Take this whole Jet Li DVD collection at Amazon. The item came up at $69.99 when I first checked. but was able to search via another route and found it at $16.99. but as soon as it was in my shopping cart it jumped back up to $69.99. but picked up the phone and called a buddy who also had IE and he tried it and was able to pull off the $16.99 price. Well have to see if they deliver now...
