Thumbs up Secret Santa for Christmas - No More Signups!

(Ok, I cheated and copied this from last year's. )

nickel brought up the idea to me to have a site wide Secret Santa for Christmas. I love the idea and since we've done the White Elephant thing before - for the most part - successfully, I think it'll work well. Same type of concept, but a Christmas theme. Doesn't have to be Christmas themed gifts, but stuff you would GIVE for Christmas. We decided to go ahead and post it now, rather than waiting til closer, so everyone has time to buy & send.

We were thinking of setting a $15 spending limit plus shipping (so $20-$25 total probably). Not just crap you find around your house but an actual gift.

Basically we'll do it just like the White Elephant. If no one objects, I can collect & distribute info. If someone else wants to, I'm cool with that, too.

    What do you guys think?
    ==============================================

    GUIDELINES:

    Mail deadline: December 15th
Amount: $15 plus shipping, so $20-$25 total
PLEASE let me know if you are going to be unable to send anything by the deadline. We do not want any deadbeat senders this time. We'd much rather know that you are not able to and send something ourselves.

    UPDATE
Everyone needs to either PM me or email me their name & address. Signup will be for a week then I'll give out the names.

    PM sent.

I think the way we should do it is buy the gift now...blindly...then get our name to send it to. Last year I spent 2 weeks scouring the threads for anything Nickel wanted for Christmas. All I could find was McD's Chicken Selects.

I ended up having to have Jenny PM her and ask her what she wanted.

I figure if we do it blindly, we will all have some random gift and won't have to worry whether or not it is "really what the person wanted". It'll be like the GA Bag o Crap. Except the crap will be a good $15 gift.

Nah, too complicated. I say just buy something you think is cute or funny (but remember, nothing that isn't work/child safe unless specifically said so to me so I can pass it along. We want this to be fun, not offensive. lol).

Count me in again on this one.
    I think over again
    My small adventures, my fears.
The small ones that seemed so big,
For all the vital things I had to get and to reach.

And yet there is only one great thing, the only thing:

To live to see the great day that dawns,
And the light that fills the world.

Well...you buy something like a DVD or a Weather Radio.

You don't PURPOSELY buy a gift for a guy or a girl. Think of what you might buy for a hermaphrodite.
