Woman Tracks Down Car Thief Using FasTrak

DANVILLE -- A woman helped police recover her stolen car by tracking the thief's movements using her online FasTrak account.
Dinah Thompson's Subaru was stolen in September from the driveway of her Danville home with the FasTrak toll-paying module still inside.
Over the next several days, Thompson monitored the thief's bridge crossings online as he racked up more than 4,000 miles crisscrossing several San Francisco Bay area spans.
She passed along the information to police, who were able to determine the car's general whereabouts and obtain a photo of the suspect from cameras mounted at toll crossings, said San Anselmo Police Detective Ryan Dunnigan. The car was eventually recovered.

You don't steal the car and drive around like it's your car.
Even without rush-hour traffic, is this even possible in the Bay Area?
