So the media should stop listening to Jesse? He's only one of the (arguably) biggest leaders of the black populice. I'd say there would be a whole bunch of folks (you probably included) who "have their panties in a wad" if the media didn't listen to him.

Jessie is not MY leader... I don't bow down to him nor do I pay him a special fee to represent me. I don't necessarily agree with EVERYTHING he says but I do agree with some things and in the current issue, he spoke along the lines of how I was thinking (without me using his words as motivation for what I was saying.)
My panties ain't in any wads here over this issue... cause honesty I resolved long ago that it really doesn't matter what many of us say anyways... most of us don't control the system and all we can do is agree or disagree as far as changing it. Therefore, Mr. Jackson has a higher platform that obviously SOMEONE is hearing/listening to and that platform gets much attention... still it doesn't mean that he's always right but that also doesn't mean that he's always wrong. What it means is that he is opinionated and has the opportunity to voice that opinion to a much wider audience.
Honestly, I can speak for myself... I don't need Jessie to "lead" me. But thanks for offering that as your opinion.

here's a word of advice df. if you want to be understood, respected, etc...try and limit the use of hyperbole and self-pity.
i.e.: you're wrong because of X. your statement is incorrect because of X. your claim is wrong for X reasons.
but you never do. you make a statement, like your claim that jackson was simply asked his opinion and the forthcoming answer got our collective panties in a wad in spite of it being in line with the common man.
when show that not only was your version of events innacurate, but that the common man's view does not support TO you refused to acknowledge or refute my rebuttal. you instead went to whining mode and set off the smoke screen.
answer me this: did the media seek out jackson to get his opinion or did jackson initiate the process by contacting owens and issuing a press release intended to publicize his views?
