    NBC is funny

...............................................(got this in a write an email to complain email.........................
NBC is promoting the network's mid-season replacement series "The Book of Daniel" with language that implies it is a serious drama about Christian people and Christian faith. The main character is Daniel Webster, a drug-addicted Episcopal priest whose wife depends heavily on her mid-day martinis.

Webster regularly sees and talks with a very unconventional white-robed, bearded Jesus. The Webster family is rounded out by a 23-year-old homosexual Republican son, a 16-year-old daughter who is a drug dealer, and a 16-year-old adopted son who is having sex with the bishop's daughter.

At the office, his lesbian secretary is sleeping with his sister-in-law.

Network hype and the mainstream media call it "edgy," "challenging" and "courageous." The hour-long limited drama series will debut January 6 with back-to-back episodes and will air on Friday nights. The writer for the series is a practicing homosexual.

Haha. Does anyone in Hollywood take anything seriously?

    I'd hit that.

Network hype and the mainstream media call it "edgy," "challenging" and "courageous."
I'd go along with those. I might get rid of the earlier "serious" claim that the authors said was being implied.
The writer for the series is a practicing homosexual.
Good to know that matters to the authors. Tells me a lot, actually.

Network TV is more a New York thing, no? And yes, both Hollywood and TV execs take some things seriously. Like money, and ratings.
Common sense is what tells you the Earth is flat.

It's rediculous to refer to this drama as being about Christian people and Cristian faith. It has nothing to do with the Christian faith. It might be about Christians, but I would have to watch it to find out (not gonna happen).

Somebody's definately taking the low road here.

Actually, so am I. I saw a preview for the show, and it looks terrible, regardless of the subject matter.

i bet it'll last 0.5 episodes. They'll switch to Friends' reruns halfway through after every single conservative calls the NBC switchboard.

How the hell does Firefly get canceled when this trash gets put on TV?

Most network tv is crap. The only shows that I've watched this year (that were new) were Prison Break and My Name Is Earl (the latter of which is the only show on NBC worth watching anymore IMHO).

We watch a lot of returning/rerun shows but other than that, I have only seen the above 2 new programs as being worth watching.

This show looks really dumb. NBC has fallen off the face of the earth IMO since the days when Thursday nights were all about Friends & Seinfeld. I used to love ER (during the same time)...now that pretty much every original cast member has left the show, it's crap.
