Jack discontinued the Prize Times text message subscription program the last week of November 2007.

According to the Program Director and others at Jack that I have spoken to, by no longer sending text messages to subscribers, it give everyone a more fair chance to get a prize and as they say "Luck". If you have a few hours to kill in the evening everyday to sit in front of your computer and keep freshing the prize page, you really do deserve the prize. It's all random now.

If I knew when the prizes were coming up for sale, believe me I would post the times.

I have spent (on several days) up to 7+ hours in front of my pc refreshing pages every 10 seconds....(and sometime I do have a life ) and still, not being able to get what I was after. I I really think that sux..........

Random is not really fair...it strongly benefits those who have time to sit around and refresh, rather than their "loyal" listeners or even us here on the board who share and can only enter codes in the evenings or during limited times during the day.
I already gave up on Channel 8 because of this and I'm ready to give up on Jack because of this.
If they told me an *hour* (or at least a *day*) when prizes would go up, I might actually have a shot at getting *something* rather than never have a chance for anything except the stupid Hustler discount coupon that nobody wants (for a reason---no real value.)

True...and that's what I'm doing, although I also do that on Fox and they usually have the same choices plus more.

Sure, but after winning one or two auctions, you will probably have no points left. I've tried a few and decided that things like a $25 gift card are not worth 300,000 points.

I believe the problem with Jack/KFMB/760 is that there is just NOT ENOUGH prizes---half a dozen a week for "buy it now"--available for a nano-second. When they used to text the times...everybody knew it and the webpage would freeze for me and I never won anything that way.Then you have the option of ONLY ONE chance for a particular item at auction...and YES it would be approx 300,000 points!!! If they offered, say, 6 sets of tickets for a concert or something---it would be available for a MINUTE or so at least....or more offerings per week. Bottom line..........its a WEAK program.

Yes-KYXY USED to be great!!!!-then Mary Deary went to ClearChannel and they were good at first---now it seems 95% of ClearChannel auctions are for $25 gift cards. BUT at least they have MANY opportunites......Jack, on the other hand is WAY TOO FRUSTRATING and hardly worth our time.

Dogopoly, I know you didn't like the Clear Channel program in the past. I was wondering if you've decided to give it a try. I agree with all your posts. I too haven't won anything on JACK ever since they stopped posting times. It seems the only radio station that I can consistently win prizes on is Clear Channel. I also like the fact that there are several prizes varying in price from $15 to $400+ and that everything is an auction. If someone wants to spend 500,000 points for a prize, they deserve it. But at least the rest of us will get a chance at another prize.

I won't go back to clearchannel until they restore the point they stole from me. I did nothing wrong or against their rules but they didn't like how I did it (and I won't go into detail). Since they didn't like the way I found holes in their system, they took my points away. You think they would have rewarded me for helping them fix their problems.

Yeah...I guess this whole rewards stuff has gotten overplayed and needs to either go away or get totally revamped. I guess Fox tried it with the GiftzClub but they could never quite get it right.
