    USC 2005 vs. History

ESPN is doing a ridiculous poll that asks people whether 2005 USC would have beaten some of the best teams of the past 40 years.

    The current results are here.

I point this out for two reasons:

    1. People are idiots. They're voting for USC over all but one of these teams so far. USC 2005 would get killed by any team on the list higher than 1969 Texas. And they probably wouldn't beat 2002 Ohio State, either (since that team managed to almost beat a Canes team that would take 2005 USC behind the woodshed).
    2. At least people realized the one team USC wouldn't beat is 2001 Miami.

Look at the list. Most aren't THAT far back in the day.

Haven't posted in a while, but couldn't help myself with this one.

These are prolly the same people who voted Ronald Reagan as the greatest human ever out of these choices:

    1. Ron Reagon
    2. Leonardo DeVinci
    3. Ben Franklin
    4. Martin Luther King Jr
    5. Abraham Lincoln
    6. George Washington

Idiots. Someone needs to karate chop them on the head. Ah, I feel better now.
Careful where you extend your hand. You may pull it back bloodied.

Was that an actual list? How did Reagan even get into that group? Was it a survey of American Spectator readers?

Ya i laughed when I saw them talking about USC vs the 91 Washington Huskies. They even said one of the best defensive teams in a long time(only game up 9.2points a game). I can understand the espn analysts and their view but then everybody just goes and votes for USC.

People don't remember the teams from the years before, they just know what is going on now. That is why USC is winning almost every vote, it is a joke.

The polls are done. USC's final record in their mythical season was 11-1.

I'm a huge Hurricanes fan, and I know the 2001 Canes would've ripped this SC team. But even my hatred of Nebraska won't keep me from admitting that 1995 Nebraska team was ridiculously good. They had an amazing defense that kept up with Florida's speed and ran the option about as well as I've ever seen it run. No way USC beats that team.

    Silly voters.

What a joke. They'd be lucky to go .500 against that lineup. No chance they'd beat FSU, U of M, or Nebraska. I guess people's memories are short...

There's some other teams that aren't even on that list that would probably take down USC. There were some strong Colorado teams back when Kordell was at QB. And they put that Weinke-led FSU team up there just because they went undefeated, but the Charlie Ward FSU teams would've been a much better matchup.

Seth (Happy Valley): Isn't all this 2005 USC being the greatest talk a little premature considering thay have not won anything yet? Also, the case can be made that last year's USC team was better than this year's team due to the defense.

That part looks much funnier now And True.

Am I wrong to think that the 2000 Oklahoma National Championship Team was a great team? Roy Williams... Josh Heupal (Granted he didn't go on to play well in the NFL after being hurt but he was a great QB) High Ranked Defense and Offense..

    Eh.. what do I know.
