Pic of The Day: Foggy Boats

Around four o'clock tonight the fog rolled in pretty heavily along the coast. This is at the Mission Bay Marina.

you need to adjust the color on this one man, actually try converting to black and white and changing the contrast

I wasn't keen on the red, but I was tired last night and too lazy to change it then. I think I was trying to show that it was at sunset but it didn't work. This was a hard picture to work on since there is not much range of tones to work with- a combination of low light and the fog. I decided not to go completely black and white- still have a little color. So here is my latest attempt at it:

Personally I like the original up top. The black and white is too 'dramatic'. I like the earthy-colors of the original, with just a few bits of color thrown in there.

And also since the first one has much less contrast than the second, it's comes out as much calmer than the second, which (imo) communicates very well what I imagine the general atmosphere/mood to have been during that time of morning.
