I am sooooo happy for Reese Witherspoon because she has pretty much been thought of as blond fluff up to this point. The most amazing part was she and Joaquin both did their own singing in the movie.

Are you kidding? Sure, after she established herself she did some stuff that didn't exactly stretch her abilities, but she has always been an extraordinary actress.
If you have seen Pleasantville, Election or Freeway it's immediately obvious. How could anyone think different?

She didn't really become popular (and well known) until she did Legally Blond. After, LB2 and Sweet Home Alabama. Not exactly Oscar contenders. I never said she wasn't great, I am just saying NOW more people know it. Alot of people I know didn't even realize she was in Pleasantville.

I had forgotten that she was in it until I saw it on tv a month ago.

Most people don't get Pleasantville anyway. When I encounter people who have seen the movie and say that they didn't like it or that it didn't make sense, I avoid them. They aren't people that I want to associate with. If they are devoid of intellect, why waste time with them?
It's a shame that so many people miss out on a major portion of their lives because they are unable to perceive it.

That's because she is a great actress and you saw the character she portrayed, not the actress.

Wow. Out of that entire list of winners, I've only seen Lost and The Office. That's about the same ratio I get for grammy winners, too.

Does anyone else remember the Southpark episode with the film festival where Cartman complains about all the movies being about gay cowboys sitting around eating pudding? Kinda sounds like Brokeback Mountain, except for the pudding.
