The Buick Invitational is in progress this week. I tried to take my camera in last year, but they do not allow them in on the actual tournament days. But they do allow them in for the Monday/ Tuesday practice rounds and also for today's Pro Am Tournament which I went to. Unfortunately I did not get there until after the big guns like Tiger Woods were done- he played at 6:42 and I didn't get there until after 12:00. It takes me about an hour to ride up there on my bike (12 miles each way with hills). I really wanted a Tiger shot but did not know the schedule of the Pro Am until I got there. Bummer. Try again next year. There were still good players out there- saw Bob Tway, Davis Love III, Jasper Parnevik, and Bernard Langer. Not a golf fan so there were also others I did not know who they were.
This was my favorite of the pictures I took today. It is one of the last ones I shot. I was making my way towards the entrance (it was almost sunset and I didn't want to ride too much after dark with the crazy traffic I would face on Torrey Pines Road and in La Jolla) and turned around for one more look when I saw this golfer across the way. I have no idea who it was. It does not matter really. I liked the light and the tranquil scene of one more hole of golf before the sun goes down.
