Suckage: coming home to find a 'for sale' sign in your yard.

Ah yes, nothing like arriving home after a stressful day at work to find a realtor sign in front of your house. I've happily lived here 2.5 years, and the landlord doesn't even bother to tell me (or the place that manages the property for him) that he's going to sell it. Now I need to find a place that's as cheap as this one, has room for 3 non-running cars, and will allow cats. And fish. And I'm completely broke. This place is a tiny little dump, about the same square footage as a 2-bedroom apartment, and has no yard (you literally can't take 3 steps in any direction from the house without leaving the property) but it has a 2-car garage, it's two blocks from the university my gf goes to, it's a _house_ so I don't have to deal with noisy neighbors, and I'm only paying $600 a month for it.

I have no idea how I'm going to be able to afford to move, and I'm incredibly stressed right now.

A two bedroom sized house with a garage big enough for at least 3 cars, for $600/month! Where on earth DO you live?!?

Well, after getting about half an hour's sleep last night, I got some good news. The !@#$% sign got put up in front of the wrong house! I'm tempted to take the rest of the day off of work and go home and sleep, since I probably can, now.

I live in Salt Lake City. The house is about $3-400 below market for the neighborhood for an under 1000sqft house. It's not quite two bedrooms. The "second bedroom" is more of an entranceway, since that's where the front door opens into. And there's a utility room as well. The place is really wierd architecturally. It's only 14' wide, about 40' long, and has three floors - it's like living in a split-level trailer. The garage is only two-car - the other car is in the driveway.

I only wish rent was that cheap where I live.
