What kind of car do you instinctively believe that the driver is a snob? He/she may be the nicest person around, but they are going to have to prove it to you that they are not one:
BMW, High end Lexus, Mercedes, other?

I'd have to go with Porsche. Or anything "pimped out." Yeah, BMWs are often driven by people who want them as status symbols, but a huge percentage are simply automobile enthusiasts who like the handling/performance and could care less what the hood ornament looks like.Originally Posted by johnnymk

I'd have to disagree. Porsches too are driven in large part (at least the ones I see - I do know of two who fall squarely into your description) for its performance and handling characteristics. I think you might be able to make the argument for the Cayenne, but even then people buy them to have a roomier car with the Porsche performance.Originally Posted by Houdini
I mean, come on - a Porsche 911 will easily trump the driving character of a BMW M3 (the closest comparable car I could think of). Porsches I think are more enthusiast cars than BMWs.

Googled "Don't Judge A Book By Its Cover" and...well, this kinda sorta ties into the thread.

With that said, I know alot of good people who drive BMW's, Mercedes, Lexus, etc....and some real @ssholes who drive a POS.![]()
My votes...
For snob vehicles...
1) Porsche - even though it is a VERY nice car... alot of snobs buy them as "status symbols" and not for what the car can really do. (Sorry AJ)
2) Bentley - Just cause they can afford it and the "little people" can't (although now that various rappers now make "Bentley money"... these snobs have to move up to the next eschelon of cars (i.e. supercars or any car over $300K )
3) Jaguar - Although after being bought by Furd, many snobbish folks still look at them as a symbol (and boy do they get pissed if you remind them that those are just upscale Furd Contours and Taruses.)
4) Range Rover - for the outdoorsy type snob who may or may not go anywhere near the great oudoors.
5) Original Hummer (not the H2 or H3) - for the outdoorsy snob who really wants to go anywhere outdoors. Good luck with the gas money there boss.
6) Upper End Mercedes Benz (only the ones that are over $70K like the AMG or the SLR, the others are too close to the mainstream buyer for elitist of the snobs to consider.)
Of course there are others... but those are the ones that come to my mind considering the topic of the thread.

Mercedes. All of them. For me snob, is defined by the price/performance ratio.

Just snobs? Or jerks too?
Mostly I encounter jerks, and there seems to be a corollary between rim size and attitude problems, be it a small car or a truck/SUV.

I think people who own honda civic and toyota corolla are big fat SNOBS!!!!j/k
personally, I think anybody who buys a freakishly expensive car is a snob. A CAR GETS YOU FROM POINT A TO B! you don't need to to look fancy shmancy to do that!
Life is like toilet paper, long and useful!

Any car more expensive than mine...
I'll safely say a Maybach falls under that category. Otherwise, I'm keeping my options open. Haha.

True. And I don't like the way they drive, nor their interiors. I like a nice blend of comfort AND sportiness inside and out of the car. The C2xx series just felt too light to me, but the man transmission was pretty damn good.Originally Posted by Jihforce
really? I had a great time knocking that car around (albeit it was a 4Matic) at the LoveMercedes tour.Originally Posted by Houdini

Each religion has got their own way of making you feel like a victim. The Christians say 'you are a sinner', and you better just zip up your trousers and give the money to the pope and we'll give you a room up in the hotel in the sky.

Toyota Prius. With the $5k premium they're paying OVER the car's value (which they'll never get back) they have more to say about everyone else then anyone (and it isn't good). They'll snub your F150 no matter how much it costs to do it. Dumb and reverse snobbery. Oh, and they always hate Dodge trucks for some reason. Not really, I just made that last part up.![]()
