    possible to block downloads at router level?

    is it possible to block downloads of certain files at the router level, Because I think my school just blocked the download of torrent files. BAHHHHHHHHHHH

    Yes, absolutely. Could be at a router, could be a content filtering device, could be the firewall, or it could even be blocked at an IPS (intrusion prevention system).

    bahhhhhhhhhh humbug, stupid stuff, now i have to download them from an unsecured wireless, transfer to my desktop and then load them into utorrent. that totally screws up the rss thing I had going

    Talk to the sys admin at the school. If you have a legitimate need, they just might open it up for you. We do that here at work.

    csi and sopranos in hdtv def isnt a legimate need (well i think it is)

    its ok just another road block in the way

    hdtv really is 100% nicer than normal tv, It just isnt the same....

    But I totally prefer to buy rather than download xbox games.

    is it possible to block any packet that has rc4 encryption at the router level?

    Its possible to block *any* packet at the router level. Its just a matter of what parameters are put on it.
