Length of Time to Burn a Movie?

How long does it take your computer to burn a 4.5-4.7 GB movie, not including the time to convert it using DVD Shrink or other programs?

It takes my computer slightly less than 10 minutes using 8X media.

I am curious to see if that is a typical speed.

sounds like you're burning at 4x.

I burn at 4x (for compatibility) and it takes about 8-9 minutes.

I've been stuck in PIO mode for the last four months and it has been taking me about 50 minutes to burn a DVD. The funny thing is I've always thought that was normal since DVDs are so much larger than CDs.

I've pretty much got the same thing. A Pioneer DVR-109 flashed to the A09 firmware, which (is supposed to) lets me burn at X16 speed. Still looking into this issue.
