    Studio/Noise-cancelling nice headphones for laptop?

I've been out of the earmuff style headphones market for many many years. The last pair I had were Sennheiser I got from Amazon for $80 or so.

I'm looking for something similar (tired of these $20 Sony ones that go around the back of your head), preferrably $100 or less. I see brands like Skullcandy but never had seen them before. And Sony's are always overpriced IMO.

What brands are good nowadays? (bonus if there's a set you can recommend )
    And closer...

I am also a believer of the in-ear canal-type earphones. The "noise-cancelling" headphones (ie Bose, Sennheiser, etc) that use soundwaves are often hit-or-miss, sometimes not working in certain conditions. The Shures physically block ambient noise, guaranteeing it will work all the time. The effective noise-blocking coupled with the wide dynamic range allow the listener to enjoy music at lower levels yet still hear the full sonic spectrum of the music, which, contrary to popular belief about in-ear products, protects you from hearing damage.

A lot of musicians use the Shures for monitoring. There's a reason these tiny things cost hundreds of dollars. They sound amazing. Just read some reviews on the internet and you'll see what I'm saying. If you can find a good deal on them, by all means try 'em out.
