    need a little help

the fuse is blown on my 2000 camry for the clock. now, i know replacing the fuse is an easy job. however, i kinda lost the owners manual...so not sure which is the right one.

can anyone help or point in the right direction?

(yes, there is a diagram on the cover of the fuse box...but it doesn't say which one is the one for the clock)

Which fuse block are you looking at? Under the hood or near the steering wheel? Fuses will show visually if they're burned out, so you can always pull them 1 at a time and look at them. My question is why a clock would ever burn out a fuse. It should never happen unless something is grounding out.

Did you check the fuse panel under the steering wheel? I think the clock fuse is there, and the cover has a diagram for which fuse is which. Not sure, but check. A good fuse will have a thin solid filament from terminal to terminal. A burned out fuse will have a broken filament.

Check out page 245. I think you need fuse #14, though I can't read the diagram to see exactly where it is. It'll be a 7.5 amp fuse though, not many of those.

You'll probably need a fuse puller that usually comes with the car. Mine didn't but your's should. Also if you read the diagram it should point out where the spare fuses are located that might be just what you need to replace the burned out one.

The fuses look like aluminum bell curve shaped filaments when not burned out. Burned out ones have a clear break in the middle.

Sorry I am late to the party, but looks like you've got it nailed. According to Daedalus' link thehere are only two 7.5 amp fuses - one is the one you want, the other powers the Engine Control Computer.

If you can't find a fuse tool, a small pair of needle-nose pliers or hemostats will pull the fuse.

They are also color-coded, though I can't remember the colors and corresponding amp ratings right off the top of my head.
