Does anyone know if you can use Eudora 5.0 (or any version) to retrieve e-mail from internet accounts like yahoo, hotmail, excite and etc.? I'm wanting to switch from Outlook Express due to security reasons, but if I can't retrieve e-mail from hotmail with Eudora like I can with OE, I don't know then.

I use Eudora but have never tried it retrieving my yahoo email, only my regular e-mail thru my ISP, will check it out and post. Also note, you can now get the full version of Eudora for free but there are advertisements with it. My husband used it but finally deleted it because it kept giving him illegal errors and he couldn't read his email. I use the older version of Eudora Light and you couldn't pay me to use Outlook Express. Just an FYI =)

Ok, yes you can check your yahoo e-mail on Eudora. I use Eudora Light 3.0. Create a yahoo account and go into e-mail, there is a help section that tells you how to configure Eudora to receive your e-mail. The instructions are for 4.0, so not exactly the same but still it works. If you get the full version with ads, would be curious to see if you have any problems with the illegal operation errors we got. Thx!

sure, its a little confusing but ca be done.

I use the 5.0 with ads, and haven't had any problems yet.
