    Fast Memory

Does your motherboard have to support it in order to take advantage of it? I have an older MB which the manual says it supports 1600 DDR. Would faster memory be a waste?

Yeah, it would be a waste. That must be a pretty old mb.

I concur... I also say that it would be a waste to buy memory that slow as you wouldn't be able to use it in any future systems as well.

Honestly, I'd buy an upgraded mobo first... or just get a Dell and be done with it (for the comparative money)

This is one of about 8 computers I have running. I still have a few more I haven't built yet. I was just curious.
